Rose: HMS Rose; Sixth Rate Length: 179ft; Beam: 32ft; Draft: 13ft; 500 displacement tons; Hull, England; 1757 The HMS Rose was purpose built for the Seven Years War. In the 1770's she saw action on a number of occasions in the American War of Independence. A replica of the Rose was built in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia in the 1970's which later would play the part of the HMS Surprise in the movie "Master and Commander".
