Vessel Motion

A ship's motion is defined by:

Heave - The rise and fall of the entire ship.
Pitch - The rise and fall of the bow and stern.
Roll - The tilting or 'heeling' of a ship.
Surge - A sudden forward movement or slowing of the vessel.
Sway - The sideways drift of a vessel.
Yaw - A sudden change of direction.
